Ethical Travel – volunteer flight companions for dogs are needed globally

Next time you’re flying, you might have the chance to give a dog a second chance at life!

Organisations around the world are working day and night to create a better future for stray cats and dogs in need of support. Volunteers are needed on every level of the process, from rescuing and rehabilitation to transportation.

Cats and dogs all around the world are waiting to be homed with their adopters, and you can help make it happen. Flight companions are needed to help bring these patient puppers to their forever home. By connecting with an organisation you may be able to accompany one of these sweet souls… fully organised and paid for by the organisation. They make the process easy for you – all you have to do is get in contact.

The animals rescued by these organisations are given a second chance at life, usually being saved from meat farms or inhumane living conditions. If you aren’t a traveller, or don’t have the financial means to donate at the moment, one of the greatest ways you can make an impact is to share the existence of these organisations – especially with anyone you know who is a frequent traveller.

Before your next trip, search ‘volunteer flight companion’ to see if you can help support cats or dogs in countries you are planning to visit… you may even save a dog on your layover. Please try and contact these organisations at least a few weeks in advance.

These are some non-profit organisations that could use your help.

This just means that you would be letting a dog or cat fly with you to your destination (organized and paid for by Rescue P.A.W.S.)…”
